Following extensive consultation with the recycling industry, Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has compiled a list of items that can and cannot be recycled, along with how they should be presented by householders.
For a number of years the WRAP Recycling Tracker survey has identified confusion amongst householders on what can/can’t be recycled. The survey concludes that lack of knowledge is a key barrier to recycling. Other barriers include a lack of bin capacity and inertia. The guidelines have been developed to help bring about consistency in the materials collected for recycling and reduce householder confusion in recycling.
