Privacy statement Netherlands Institute for Sustainable Packaging

The Netherlands Institute for Sustainable Packaging ("KIDV") dedicates the utmost care and attention to the protection of and transparency with regard to your personal data. This Privacy Statement describes how the KIDV, as a data controller, collects, shares, uses and/or otherwise processes data that concern you or can identify you (hereinafter: “personal data") in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

Personal data and processing purposes

The KIDV processes personal data in order to provide knowledge about sustainable packaging via newsletters, events, answers to questions and other activities. For this purpose, the KIDV processes the following personal data: your name, email address, telephone number and the name of the organisation you represent.

You can also sign up for our newsletters with your name and email address. You can opt out of receiving these newsletters at any time by clicking the opt-out link included in every newsletter.

During your visit to the KIDV's website, we will store your computer's Internet Protocol address (IP address), as well as information on the type of operating system and internet browser you use and the web pages you visit. This technical information is used to manage our website and offer you all of its functionalities, resolve any technical malfunctions or improve the accessibility of certain parts of the website.

The KIDV may refer website visitors to other sources, e.g. via links to third parties that are included on our website. The KIDV accepts no responsibility with regard to these third parties and the manner in which these third parties process personal data. We advise you to read the privacy statements of these third parties.

The KIDV uses Google Analytics to monitor the number of visitors to its website and their browsing behaviour. For this purpose, the KIDV has signed a processor agreement with Google. When accessing the results from Google Analytics, the final octet of the IP address is masked and the “share data” option is disabled. The KIDV does not use other Google services in combination with the Google Analytics cookies.

Storage periods

The KIDV will not store your personal data any longer than strictly necessary for the purpose for which the data were collected, or no longer than the legal data retention period. If you opt out of receiving our newsletters, we will delete your personal data as soon as reasonably possible. 

The aforementioned technical data, such as your computer's IP address and browser information, will not be stored for more than one month.

Who can access your data?

The KIDV only shares your personal data with third parties insofar as it is necessary to do so for the execution of its services (e.g. the hosting of its website) or insofar as the KIDV is legally obligated to do so. Organisations that process personal data on behalf of the KIDV (“processors") have signed a processor agreement with the KIDV to safeguard the careful use of and appropriate levels of security and confidentiality for the personal data. At all times, the KIDV is responsible for the data processing carried out by these third parties. Your personal data will never be shared with parties or countries located outside the European Economic Area.

Personal data security

Your personal data are treated confidentially. The KIDV has taken appropriate technical and organisational security measures to optimally protect your personal data against misuse, loss or unlawful processing. To this end, the KIDV utilises various data security techniques including secure servers, firewalls and encryption, as well as physical security of the areas in which the data are stored. 

Your rights

You have the right to request access to and the rectification, completion and transfer of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to revoke the permission you gave for certain forms of processing of your personal data or object to the processing of your personal data.

If you wish to exercise your legal rights or if you have any other questions and/or remarks about the KIDV's processing and/or protection of your personal data, please submit your specified request to info@kidv.nl. The KIDV will respond to your request as soon as possible and no later than four weeks after receiving your request.

The KIDV also wants to remind you that you have the right to file a complaint with the national privacy watchdog, the Data Protection Authority.

Applicable law

This Privacy Statement, as well as any disputes arising from or pertaining to this Privacy Statement, are governed exclusively by Dutch law.

Changes

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Statement in order to safeguard its conformity with applicable laws and regulations. It is advisable to consult this Privacy Statement regularly to ensure you are always up to date on any changes.
