Lush uses consumer promotions to encourage the recycling of packaging.
When consumers return five empty pieces of plastic Lush packaging (excluding testers), they can pick a fresh face mask in the store for free. Lush packaging is sent to the United Kingdom, where it is cleaned and shredded at the Lush factory. The material is then used as raw material for new packaging.
