Calculation tool for reusable shipping packaging in e-commerce

In 2022, the “Calculation Tool for Reusable Packaging” was launched, developed by KIDV (now integrated in Verpact) in collaboration with LCA expert Partners for Innovation (and numerous beta testers – mostly organisations offering solutions relating to reusable packaging). The calculation tool is an Excel-based tool that helps companies compare single-use packaging with a reusable alternative in terms of material and water consumption, CO₂ emissions and costs.

Building on this general Reuse tool, Verpact developed a version specifically for reusable shipping packaging in e-commerce in 2025, supported by a grant from the Versnellingshuis CE.
