Werner & Mertz uses recycled plastic in packaging

Werner & Mertz group (W&M) supplies the market with various household and commercial cleaning agents under the brand names Frosch and Green Care Professional. W&M has been using recycled PET (r-PET) in the packaging for these products since 2008. Initially, r-PET was derived from business-to-business plastic waste, but W&M has also been using post-consumer r-PET since 2014. The use of r-PET is possible thanks to cooperation between stakeholders in the chain, such as packaging producer Alpla, waste collector Grüne Punkt and sensor system specialist Unisensor. The use of r-PET reduces the need for fossil fuels in the production of new packaging.
