Vibers
Ever heard of Elephant grass? It is a crop that can be used to create high performing materials, while offering important benefits such as being a non-food crop, using little water, absorbing vast amounts of CO2 and growing fast. Realizing its potential, Vibers is using it to create bioplastic, cardboard and paper. On top of being biobased, this material is biodegradable and can be used for injection moulding, extrusion and thermoforming. It is suitable for a large variety of applications including packaging for electronics and luxury cosmetics.
Meet the Founder
Jan-Govert van Gilst founded Vibers after a trip to Borneo in 2010, where he witnessed vast deforestation and beaches full of ocean plastics. His aim is, not to battle the plastic, paper or cardboard industry, but to foster cooperation in order to accelerate sustainable transformation.
