Cooper's Refillery

Only about 9% of plastic is recycled worldwide, while the rest is either burned or ends up in our landfills or our environment. At Cooper’s Refillery we decided it was time to rethink how we consume plastic. We designed a refill station for supermarkets that can be used to refill liquid soap, laundry detergent, and other cleaning supply products. Our refill stations provide a convenient alternative to single-use packaging. Customers can refill their essential products in the same place that they do their food shopping.

Our vision is to create a world where no plastic is unnecessarily wasted. We want to empower people to reduce their own plastic waste by refilling their plastic bottles at one of our refill stations. Our refill stations aim to bring plastics into the circular economy and keep plastics out of the environment.

Meet the team

Cooper's Refillery was founded by a biologist and a designer who joined forces, with the goal of reducing single-use plastics in our community.

Cameron Cooper
Cameron is a marine mammal conservation biologist from California who studied Northern elephant seals. During her time as a field researcher, she always found single-use plastics on the beach. She wanted to make a change and protect what she loves. This is the story of how Cooper's Refillery was born.

Guido Schoots
Guido is an Industrial Design Engineering student at the University of Technology Delft. He believes that plastic is an amazing material that has helped us transform our society; however, it is often misused. He wanted to help create a solution to change the way that we use plastic.
